Every strong community is built on a simple exchange—people support local businesses, and in return, those businesses create opportunities, provide resources, and help shape the environment we live
in every day. But that cycle doesn’t sustain itself. It depends on awareness, access, and intentional participation.
When people choose to spend, engage, and connect within their own community, they’re doing more than supporting a business—they’re contributing to local growth. Those dollars circulate, supporting families, strengthening small businesses, and influencing the quality, value, and opportunities available within the community over time.
The impact is cumulative. The more connected and engaged a community is, the stronger and more resilient it becomes.
That’s the foundation behind Business & Community Connect and our broader initiatives. We focus on creating opportunities for people to discover what exists around them, build meaningful connections, and actively participate in the growth of their community.
Because when people, businesses, and resources are aligned, growth becomes shared—and the value created benefits everyone.
*Future Founders Pitch
As part of the upcoming Business & Community Connect event, Future Founders Pitch is a youth-focused pitch competition designed to give aspiring young entrepreneurs the opportunity to present their ideas, compete, and gain real-world experience.
Through this platform, participants are challenged to develop and pitch a business or solution in front of a panel, where they are evaluated on creativity, clarity, and overall potential. The experience builds confidence, strengthens communication skills, and encourages innovative thinking.
Selected participants compete for recognition and a cash prize, while also gaining exposure and feedback that can help shape their ideas moving forward.
Through this initiative, we are not only creating opportunities for youth—we are strengthening the future of our community by investing in the next generation of leaders and innovators.
Business & Community Connect
Your Neighborhood Open-House
Business & Community Connect (B&CC) is Lewis & Jones Co.'s signature community engagement event series designed to bring residents, businesses, and resource organizations together in a welcoming, open-house environment.
Unlike traditional expos or networking events, B&CC is intentionally designed to encourage discovery, conversation, and meaningful connection. Attendees can explore the space at their own pace, meet local businesses, learn about available resources, ask questions, and discover opportunities that exist within their own community.
Each event is thoughtfully curated to include a diverse mix of businesses, organizations, and community partners. By creating a balanced representation of industries and services, we aim to provide participants with an opportunity to stand out, build relationships, and engage with attendees in a setting that encourages connection rather than competition.
At its core, Business & Community Connect is built around the belief that strong communities thrive when residents know where to turn, businesses have opportunities to grow, and organizations can effectively reach the people they serve. The result is an ecosystem where visibility, access, patronage, and community support work together to create lasting impact.
